Basic Arithmetic Symbols

Cardinal Numbers

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, zero.


Ordinal numbers ( used to express dates)

First,second, third, fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth,thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth. 

How to write date: number+two last letter of the ordinary number.

Example: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ......


Ask for dates

  • Today it is (7th) of October 2025.
  • When is your birthday?
  • My birthday is on 1st of January.
  • When was your silver wedding?
  • It was on 2nd of February last year.
  • When will be your gold wedding?
  • It will be next year, on 3rd of March!
